City Temple Cardiff

We are delighted to announce that Pastor Steve Ball has been appointed as our new Senior Pastor. Pastor Steve will take on the role from Pastor Chris Cartwright at the beginning of October.

Steve came to the City Temple in 1996 straight from Bible College. Over the past thirteen years he has worked alongside Pastor Chris in all aspects of church life and ministry, including a period of 3 years at Danescourt Christian Fellowship. Pray for Steve, Helen and the children Amy, Sophie and Matthew as Steve moves into a fresh season of leadership and ministry.

On Sunday 26th September we will be holding a special morning service to release Pastor Chris into his new role as Elim’s Regional Leader for Wales and the South West, and to commission Pastor Steve. This will be a unique service where the ‘baton’ of leadership will be passed and to mark that we will have only one morning service at 10.30am.

At the end of October, Pastor Chris Cartwright will begin a new role as a Elim Regional Leader for Wales and the South West of England, with responsibility for around 100 Elim Churches and 180 pastors and leaders. Chris will have the challenging task of pastoring, training and equipping leaders, overseeing churches and planning and strategy for evangelism and church planting.

Chris, Annie, and the family will still live in Cardiff and hope to continue to worship at City Temple. Most Sundays Chris will be ministering in our churches across the region. Please pray for Chris and the family as he begins this exciting new adventure.

MISSION: BURUNDI AND REPUBLIC OF CONGO

Where: Bujumbura beach and Congo destination tba.
When: October 2010.
Focus: Working with street kids on the beach, and HIV/AIDS awareness seminars for pastors and leaders.
Skills Required: Willingness to attend some training in Cardiff before the trip.

Where: Jerusalem and Galilee/Nazareth
When: October 2010.
Focus: Prayer and Evangelism.
Skills Required: Willingness to engage in intercessory prayer and personal evangelism.

MISSION: INDIA

Where: Rajahmundry.
When: November 2010.
Focus: HIV/AIDS awareness seminars for pastors and leaders, and for ladies. Visit to Leprosy village and Gateway School., link-up with Pastor Prasad.
Skills Required: Willingness to attend some training in Cardiff before the trip.

Where: Antalya
When: March 2011.
Focus: Supporting the work of Phil and Lynda Thomas.
Skills Required: Prayer and Worship ministry.

MISSION: THAILAND

Where: Chiang Rai close to the Burmese border.
When: April 2011.
Focus: Working with tribal people and a children’s hospital, and linking up with ‘Supporting a Brighter Life’.
Skills Required: Medical or Teaching experience an advantage.

MISSION: INDIA

Where: Rajahmundry.
When: June/July 2011.
Focus: Visiting Gateway School, Evangelism with village churches, pastors conference, link-up with Ignite India and Pastor Prasad.

MISSION: KENYA

Where: Kibera Slum Project, Nairobi.
When: 10 days in August/September 2011.
Focus: Supporting children in a shanty school with education and feeding programme.
Skills Required: Education background helpful, but anyone willing to put a smile on a child’s face!

Where: Monrovia.
When: November 2011
Focus: Street evangelism, youth outreach, link-up with Ignite Liberia.
Skills required: Willingness to speak in public, prayer ministry.

From 5th - 12th June, the pastors and leaders of City Temple were in Prestatyn, North Wales for the annual Elim Bible Week. With speakers like: Dary Northrop, Sy Rogers, John Glass, John Partington, our very own Pastor Chris Cartwright and many more it was a week that was invaluable for the team.
