Jacob's revelation at Bethel paints a picture of the house of God (the church) being like a gateway to heaven. As Bill Johnson put it in our recent conference 'we become brokers of heaven's realities on the earth'. What an awesome implication for us as worshippers, serving in the house and for the church as patron of artistic creativity! Jacob's response was one of renewed devotion and financial giving!
Praise and Worship
At City Temple we place a high priority on corporate Praise and Worship and attempt to leave room for the prophetic flow and power of the Holy Spirit in our meetings expecting to see heaven's realities (such as salvation, healing, provision, peace, etc) flowing in our lives as we respond to Him with hearts devoted. We believe that God deserves the best and most passionate worship that we can give Him and that worship is our highest form of communication with Him.
Come Alive
The City Temple has over its 80 year history been a church known for its vibrant worship and praise. Congregational singing has always plays a significant part in the services. In the 1950's the "Come Alive" Choir was formed finding a national audience with regular performances on the BBC.
Though we known that if we added up all the praises past, present and future it would still not come close to giving God all the glory he deserves, nevertheless we thank God for the rich worship heritage that has been sown into the life of Cardiff through City Temple over the last eighty years and honour those who have played their part.
Worship Ministry
There are currently at least fifty people involved in the worship ministry (including serving at three services each Sunday as well as at special events). There is also a string stream of young talented worshippers emerging through the Presence, Boxfresh and Reality youth bands. People involved overall range from professional musicians to those just embarking on their musical and worship journey. Musical skill, a willingness to learn and desperation to worship are the bottom-line requirements for involvement in this ministry.

Recently, we have also started to hold an evening of intense praise and worship on a Friday Night called "Pressing In...". See here for more information about `Pressing In...`
