About Re:new
City Temple’s charity shop, Re:New opened for the first time on Saturday 21st March 2009. The shop is situated at 86, Cowbridge Road East, Canton and occupies a prime spot in this busy shopping area. The shop is open from 10am – 4.30pm Monday to Saturday.
How can you help?
The success of the charity shop depends on the donation of good quality items in a clean condition. If you would like to donate we are able to accept men, women’s and children’s clothing, toys, games, household items, bedding, books, jewellery, DVDs and CDs (but not videos or cassette tapes) and gifts. If you would like to donate please bring your items to the shop during normal opening hours.

Where do the profits go?
The shop is being staffed solely by volunteers and all funds raised (after running costs) will go to support local and international charities that change communities, one life at a time. Below is a little information about two of the causes that proceeds from the shop supports:
Gateway Ministries, India
Gateway Ministry is based in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India, and was formed by Rev. V.S.C. Prasad. Pastor Prasad has developed a Christ-centred and Spirit-filled ministry in evangelism, church planting, pastors training, and outreach to the poor and needy in the villages around the city of Rajahmundry.
THE GATEWAY SCHOOL building was officially opened and dedicated in February 2009 with a team attending from Cardiff, Wales as well as many local children, pastors and dignitaries. Already the Come Together Compound has been the venue for various fun days for local children, in readiness for them attending the school which will take its first intake of children in June 2009.

IgniteHope
Hope 2008 was a youth initiative between churches in Britain and Ireland to help demonstrate Christian faith in action and explain the meaning of that faith in villages, towns and cities throughout the UK.
In 2008 we carried out IgniteHope for the first time, and in 2010 we did it again, BIGGER, BETTER, and even LOUDER than before! We are did it to encourage the church to engage with it’s community. This means that people’s needs can be met, relationships can be built and most of all the people in South Wales are introduced to the love of Jesus Christ!
Jesus tells us to GO into all nations, making disciples. They did just this, went out into the streets and communities of South Wales, becoming the hands and feet of Jesus, delivering this transforming message of Hope. Each hour that they gave to serve others was an hour where we were worshipping God by following the example Jesus set for us in being the Gospel as well as talking about it!
