“One generation will commend your works to another..” Psalm 145:4

It is a joy to welcome Gavin Calver back to the City Temple today. Gavin has recently taken up a new appointment as the National Director of Youth for Christ and we pray God’s mighty blessing on him in the role.

Over the years the City Temple has been blessed to have had an active youth and children’s work staffed by dozens of passionate volunteers, but the challenge to reach this generation goes on. Statistics show that 3 out of 4 Christians in the UK come to faith before their 19th birthday, so with 7 million 11-19 year olds in Britain a move of God in this age group would not only revolutionise the church today but would have an incredible impact for the decades to come.

So can I encourage you today to pray for the young people you know. Young people in your family; neighbourhood; your local high school. Pray for our Youth Pastor, Matt Gregor and Kate Abraham the leader of our Children's Department. Pray for Gavin and his work at Youth for Christ. Finally, some of you may have children and grandchildren that you can invite to the “Presence” service this evening.

Psalm 145:4-7
“One generation will commend your works to another;
They will tell of your mighty acts…
They will tell of your awesome works…
They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.”
